Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton Punjabi Prison WWE Championship Match Preview

The showcase match at Battleground is undoubtedly the Punjabi Prison match for the WWE Championship between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton.
In case you hadn't heard JBL's description of it "It is a huge structure that dwarfs Hell-in-a-Cell." And that is no exaggeration, 2 tonnes of steel and bamboo, one 16ft inner structure surrounded by a second 20ft outer structure and in case that wasn't intimidating enough there are spikes at the top just like a real prison. The only way to win the match is to escape both structures.

The WWE has only featured this type of match twice in the past, the first between Undertaker and Big Show at Great American Bash 2006 and then between Batista and the Great Khali at No Mercy 2007. Both matches were brutal marathon matches, with the Undertaker winning the first as the wrestlers broke the outer
cage crashing through and narrowly falling to the floor before Big Show. Batista won the second in just as close a fashion when he leapt from the top of one structure to the other, while The Great Khali was already descending to freedom, and nimbly managed to beat him to the floor.

This match between Mahal and Orton has all the potential to be just as brutal and close. Some might put the Modern Day Maharaja as a favorite seeing as he chose the Punjabi Prison stipulation for this championship match but this isolates him alone in the prison with Orton and every time he has beaten Orton in the past has been thanks to interference from the Singh brothers. I think Orton will be too much for Mahal in a one on one environment so pick him to reclaim the WWE Championship.
