Great Balls of Fire 07/09/2017 Preview & Predictions

Tonight WWE introduce Great Balls of Fire to the pay-per-view events for the RAW brand and the match card contains some great contests which have been building up on RAW over the last few weeks. The special event from the American Airlines Center in Dallas features Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in an Ambulance Match, Cesaro & Sheamus vs. The Hardy Boyz in a 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship, and Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship defense against Samoa Joe.

Here is the complete match card according to wwe.com
Universal Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe
Ambulance Match
Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt
30-Minute WWE Iron Man Raw Tag Team Championship Match
Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz
Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. Dean Ambrose

Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass
WWE Great Balls of Fire Kickoff Match for the Cruiserweight Championship
Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa

I think Neville will defeat Akira Tozawa as it is still early days for Tozawa in the WWE but maybe we could see him dethrone the King of the Cruiserweights in the near future and prove he is on the Neville level. Neville has made easy pickings of all challengers recently and has held the title since the Royal Rumble.
Pick Neville

Big Cass should easily beat Enzo Amore as we see the end of their long relationship together. I think Big Cass will go on to make some impressive moves in the WWE as a singles competitor. I think Enzo will struggle in the future without him by his side.
Pick Big Cass

Sasha Banks challenges Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship and I think Banks has proved how good she is in recent weeks and why she deserves a title shot. She is by far the superior wrestler of the two and should, without any interference or disqualifications, take the title from Miss Bliss. I am surprised that Alexa Bliss is the favorite for this match with odds of 9/1 on Sasha Banks to win.
Pick Sasha Banks

The Miz defends the Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose and as much as I’d love to see Ambrose defeat the Miz I think the Miz will weasel his way to a win as usual. The two put on a great match at Extreme Rules back in April so this should be an exciting match to watch.
Pick The Miz

Sheamus and Cesaro put their Tag Team Championships on the line against the Hardy Boyz in a 30 minute Iron Man match. After losing the titles in a cage match at Extreme Rules the Hardys were granted another chance to regain the titles after their 2-out-of-3 falls match against Sheamus and Cesaro ended in a double count out. I think the Iron Man stipulation puts the Hardys at a disadvantage so Sheamus and Cesaro will keep the belts. I heard rumors a while ago that the Hardys were going to participate in more singles matches after their return to WWE at Wrestlemania. How they would fair in singles competition I don’t know but if they lose tonight this could be the time to pursue their individual matches as this rivalry with Sheamus and Cesaro comes to an end.
Pick Sheamus and Cesaro

Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins have had a few altercations in recent weeks since their fatal-five-way match at Extreme Rules for the Universal Championship number one contender and go head to head tonight. This should be a close match but I think Wyatt will eventually defeat Rollins.
Pick Bray Wyatt

Strowman and Reigns have both stated their desire at a Universal Championship match and tonight face off in an Ambulance Match which looks like a number one contender match for a SummerSlam main event. These two have been feuding for months and I hope their rivalry continues for a long time to come. I think Strowman will defeat Reigns in this match and take on the Universal Champion at Summerslam as he had challenged Brock Lesnar before his shoulder injury and this feud with Reigns had even begun and tonight's main event could well have been Strowman vs Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
Pick Braun Strowman

Brock Lesnar defends his Universal Championship against Samoa Joe tonight and is clear favorite to win. Samoa Joe has been quietly making his way up the pecking order recently and claimed his shot by winning the fatal-five-way at Extreme Rules. Joe has stated that he does not fear Brock Lesnar and has applied the Coquina Clutch to both Lesnar and Paul Heyman in the last few weeks. Despite Lesnar being favorite I think odds of 17/2 on Joe are very generous. If he locks in the Coquina Clutch on Lesnar tonight it’ll be curtains for the Universal Champion.
Pick Samoa Joe
